3 common affiliate mistakes I've seen...

Ahhh the joys of affiliate marketing...if you put the myths behind you and realize that it is actually a lot of hard work and ACTUALLY start making money. As a friend of mine once said many people are called but a few are chosen. If you have been around for a while you know that affiliate marketing is not as simple as copy/pasting a html code for banners or links to your site and voila you start making sales. It is also about your site visitors and having knowledge about the market. Lets see few of the most common mistakes that are made when a person starts to market affiliate sites....

1.Just because you set up your affiliate site does not mean "they" will come. Even if they do you need to promote it, personalize it, give them a reason and make them want to buy the product. Advertise. Try to become best friends with search engines, start researching about SEO (search engine optimization).

2.Another mistake i've seen affiliates in the making do is only promote one product. By doing this you don't give your visitors enough options to pick from. In return you will have lower sales, it's always better to give them a couple more alternative affiliate sites then just one. Remember they don't always have to be in the form of banners you can also use links, and half the time the visitor will think its just a part of your site when clicking on it.

3. The third, don't overcrowd your site with too many banners, it makes your site not only look unprofessional but at the same time visitors may become confused and overlook everything including the content of your site. Like I stated above only put a few affiliate sites to promote and make them the best ones. In other words make sure they go with the niche of your site, you will have better results with sales.
